America’s Got Bollywood

The Performing Arts Center at Chabot College is the place to be on May 6 and 7 if you love dancing. Come and enjoy the skill and energy of the Mona Khan dancers as they weave a wonderful evening of dance, music, and costumes for all to enjoy. Two shows will be held on each day so reserve your tickets now.

May Movie Night

The Lorenzo Theater hosts this event suitable for the entire family. Bring along a picnic and comfortable lawn chairs or blankets and settle in to enjoy the movie “Find Dory.”

Prior to the movie, walk around the business expo and have the chance to meet and chat with local vendors and business owners. Stay around and try your hand at the Rock Wall after 5:00 p.m. The movie will begin after dark so remember to bring a flashlight!

Forever Plaid

The Douglas Morrisson Theatre on North 3rd Street presents “Forever Plaid” for those who love musicals. Back in the Fifties, four young singers are killed in a car crash on the way to their first big concert. Now they find themselves with a second chance to finally fulfill their dream and give the concert that they didn’t get to do way back when. The play runs from May 6 through May 27.

LGBTQ & Allies and Pride Dance

The Hayward Area Senior Center hosts the LGBTQ & Allies and Pride Dance on May 19. Considered one of the best pre-summer events in the area, the dance will feature DJ Billy Bradford. Everyone is welcome to come and mingle, enjoy the music and dance as much as they like. The event will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. and continue until 10:00 p.m.

110th Memorial Day Celebration at Lone Tree Cemetery

As one of the oldest Memorial Day observances in the Bay Area, the Celebration at Lone Tree Cemetery offers something for the entire family. This year’s keynote speaker is Major General Gary Voellger.

A helicopter flyover, music by the Hayward Municipal Band, and a classic car show are also part of the festivities. Shuttles to and from different events will be provided by the Hayward Area Parks Tram. Enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs courtesy of Lone Tree.

Call your friends and have them come over for a night of planning at your home at Cinnamon Apartments this weekend. Check out the different events happening in Hayward during May and decide which ones you want to attend. Whether you like music, dancing, or plenty of food, there will be plenty of activities to enjoy.
